The fourth round of the Northwest Indoor Championship Series was set to be hosted by R/C Plus Hobbies of Salem, OR. I would be competing in the Mod Touring car class, and arrived at the track early on Friday morning, the scheduled day of open practice for all the participants. The track was very green, with a new technical layout having just been laid down, I ran a few packs without changing anything from my Snowbirds set-up from the week prior, and waited for the groove to come in.

By the end of practice, I was turning the fastest laptimes, being in the 8.3-8.4 range.

On another note, Team Xray has been dominating the 2005/06 NW Indoor Series in the modified Touring car catagory. I have TQ'ed 3 of the 4 races and won two, the other two were won by Team Xray/RC America drivers Travis Schreven and Mike Dumas.

Saturday was set for four rounds of qualifying using the qual points system, I ran the fastest time in the first three rounds to easily secure the TQ position in the mains.

After four rounds, qualifying was as follows for Mod TC:

1. Peter Robinson - XRAY T2
2. Darren Shank - XRAY T1FK'05
3. Chad Kramer - XRAY T2
4. Shay Goodlund - XRAY T1FK'05
5. Steve Rubart - XRAY T2

The day of the Main events went really smooth, and I captured the win the the first two A-Main events to secure the overall win for the race, and further extend my lead in the points for the overall series.

Final Results for Mod TC:

1. Peter Robinson - 200pts - XRAY T2

2. Darren Shank - 198pts - XRAY T1FK'05

3. Chad Kramer - 198pts - XRAY T2

A big thanks to all of the R/C plus crew for a great race, robpics.com and Craig Bass for the photos.
